US President Joe Biden visited this Sunday (May 29, 2022) the city of Uvalde, in southern Texas, which was the scene of a school shooting that left 19 children and 2 teachers dead on Tuesday ( May 24, 2022).
Biden and the first lady, Jill Biden, went to Robb Elementary School, the school where the tragedy took place. The 2 deposited white roses and paid their respects at makeshift shrines to the victims.
The US president also attended a mass at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. According to the agency Reutersoutside, protesters shouted “do something” as Biden left, and the president replied: “We will”.

The city of Uvalde is mourning the case. Reports that the police were slow to act caused outrage.
