Since the release of films such as “Eternals” and “West Side Story”, it has become clear that some conservative countries are still opposed to films with content referring to homosexuality being shown in cinemas.

Therefore, in an interview with The Sun Showbiz, Cumberbatch stated that this is a problem that has to be dealt with.
The British actor explained that said “repressive regimes” are known for “their lack of tolerance that excludes people that deserves not only to be included but celebrated for who they are.”

However, The Guardian has revealed that the Asian country would not have canceled its premiere, but rather tried to negotiate with Marvel.
