If space creatures arrive on Earth and want to chat, humans will have a dilemma. How about a message if we don’t share a language or anything else in common? Common understanding can be found in math or music.
When people speak the same language, the conversation is easy. You can also get your message across with a foreigner, as both share the experience of being human on Earth.
On the other hand, if you try to chat with a dog, monkey, or dolphin, communication becomes more difficult. Differences in intelligence limit interaction, and in addition, the animal’s world of experience is very different from that of a human.
