In September 2020 Ubisoft announced that it was working on a new episode of Assassin’s Creed in virtual reality for Oculus, but since then no updates have been disclosed by the French giant. Today a video leak published online reveals the existence of Assassin’s Creed Nexus: this is not an official announcement, but a few seconds of video of the game menu published by an anonymous beta tester, who has not provided further details except that there will be some stealth phases and that the protagonists will be the most famous killers of the saga, such as Kassandra, Ezio and Connor. The game world will not be open world, but it will be unrelated missions that retrace the salient points of the saga. However, the parkour mechanics that made the saga famous should not be missing, this time obviously in a more immersive version. Ubisoft has not yet revealed when the game will be available, and if it will arrive on other platforms than Meta’s stand alone helmet. In the meantime, work also continues on Assassin’s Creed Infinitythe next main chapter in the series, which will introduce online multiplayer and new game mechanics, and which is expected to be announced in the coming months for a release in 2023.
