Aragonès: “The Three Wise Men are the good ones and the only kings I believe in”

The president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, this Wednesday avoided setting an explicit position on whether or not the emeritus king should return, as has been speculated in recent weeks, although he has launched darts against the monarchy. The ERC leader has taken the opportunity to reaffirm his republican convictions – “the monarchy neither in the Arab Emirates nor anywhere,” he pointed out, and stated that on a day like today, the eve of January 6, “our country must give welcome the three Wise Men, the three who are good and bring hope ”, in veiled reference to the former head of state, who remains in Abu Dhabi.

“The Three Wise Men are the good guys and the only kings I believe in,” he assured on Radio Barcelona, ​​de la Ser, within the framework of a solidarity campaign to collect toys for children with few resources. According to the President of the Generalitat, 2022 should be the year in which the Government puts all its efforts into the economic, social and emotional “recovery” of Catalan society. And also, he said, in the year in which the resolution of the “underlying problems” is faced, without even mentioning the dialogue table or the political conflict, which are present in all his speeches, such as the one he made in the past December 26.
