Rwanda withdrew its signature from the communique of the summit on Ukraine in Switzerland
Another country has withdrawn its signature from the communique of the summit on Ukraine in Switzerland. Thus, Rwanda became the third state to do this; before that, Jordan and Iraq withdrew their signatures. This is evidenced by the updated list of meeting participants who supported the results of the conference, it was published on website Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Rwanda was listed among the signatories on June 16, the day the event ended, but is missing from the June 17 update.
After the signature was withdrawn, the number of countries that did not support the final communiqué of the summit on Ukraine amounted to 16.
Earlier, the Swiss Foreign Ministry explained the procedure for countries to join the communique following the peace summit on Ukraine after data on the revocation of the signatures of Iraq and Jordan. Diplomats explained that the communiqué is a “living document” that countries can support at any time. Those states that did not participate in the peace summit on Ukraine also have this right. In addition, states have the right to refuse to sign the agreement.
Prior to this, the official representative of the Swiss Foreign Ministry, Valentin Kliva, said that Iraq and Jordan initially did not sign the communiqué following the summit on Ukraine and were included in the list of countries that signed it by mistake.
