Medieval birch bark letters discovered in Veliky Novgorod
Archaeologists have found ancient relics in Veliky Novgorod. The relevant material is published Interfax.
It turned out that three medieval birch bark letters were discovered at the XVII Trinity excavation site. “These letters were the first this spring,” the agency’s interlocutor clarified and added that the two birch bark were scraps of large letters, and the origin of the latest find remains to be determined.

Scientists establish when the letters were written, their texts will be studied by linguists. Research at the XVII Trinity excavation site began in early May. Within a month, scientists discovered more than 600 rarities of the 12th-16th centuries here.
Earlier, ancient unlooted tombs were discovered in the Krasnaya Polyana area. It was clarified that the unique find was made during the construction of a hotel on the slope of Mount Achishkho.
