Kazakhstan’s Fedorov Afeni won the gold medal and first place in the world championships for the road, under the age of 23, currently being held in Australia, after beating the Czech Matias Vasek, who finished second, while the defending champion Soren Wyrenskijold came third and won the bronze medal.
Osama Al-Shafar, Vice-President of the International Federation and President of the Asian Game Confederation, crowned the champion and presented the gold, silver and bronze medals to the three places. Al-Shafar was keen to extend congratulations and blessings to the cycling family in Asia, especially for the Kazakhstan Cycling Federation.
Al Shafar’s attendance of the coronation ceremonies comes on the sidelines of the International Congress and the meetings of the Executive Office of the International Federation.
