Two the director of VK, a Russian social media company, has died in an accident in Nenets, according to several Russian media, including Jellyfish, RBK and The Moscow Times.
Sergei Merzlyakov and Vladimir Gabrieljan were on their way to Nenets in the Arkhangelsk region along with two other people. The expedition was divided into two vehicles in which they sought to cross the river. According to Meduza, Merzlyakov was VK’s first deputy managing director and Gabrielja’s purchasing manager.
Conveyance however, they crashed in a crossing, as a result of which Gabrielya and Merzlyakov disappeared from the sight of their tour entourage. The second duo’s vehicle also crashed at the crossing, but they managed to escape and walk to the village for help.

Local according to a text written to the VK by the reindeer husbandry association on Monday, Gabrielya and Merzlyakov would have “washed into the sea”. VK issued a statement on Tuesday in which the company confirmed the duo had died in a “tragic accident”.
Gabrieljan released in early May In VK pictures and videos showing members of the expedition and vehicles used in difficult terrain.
VK has been called “Facebook of Russia” because the service is very similar compared to the US version.
