Abu Dhabi Police warned of ten dangerous and irresponsible behaviors that may expose children and young people to various accidents and disrupt the celebration of Eid Al Adha, stressing the importance of the role of parents in following up on their children, monitoring their actions, and protecting them from any dangers that threaten them.
She pointed out that these behaviors include: leaving children in swimming pools without supervision, which exposes them to drowning, leaving children in vehicles to go shopping, which exposes them to suffocation accidents, leaving children to play and cross the streets without supervision, which exposes them to the risk of being run over, and using fireworks, which causes health damage or fires. Houses, dangerous vehicle parades, reckless and reckless driving on the roads, organizing races near residential areas, exceeding the speed limit, busy answering the phone, busy writing greeting messages while driving.
The Abu Dhabi Police General Command confirmed its readiness to receive the Eid Al-Adha holiday with an integrated security system and a proactive plan, as part of its strategy to enhance security and safety, and its keenness to provide all types of support and response to citizens, residents and visitors.
She urged young vehicle drivers to exercise civilized behavior when driving their vehicles, not to exploit the joy of Eid to carry out any irresponsible behavior, and to abide by the traffic law, stressing the intensification of security and civil patrols on the emirate’s roads and all intersections in order to maintain the flow of traffic and around commercial centers, markets, gardens and public parks. For its part, the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority prepared to receive the Eid Al-Adha holiday in coordination with strategic partners through advance response plans to secure community events and activities on the one hand and work around the clock to confront emergency incidents during the Eid holiday.
Its guidelines for prevention and public safety to raise the level of public awareness of the measures that must be followed during Eid included caution against fire accidents in vehicles, as a result of their drivers neglecting to perform regular maintenance, calling on drivers to provide fire extinguishers inside their vehicles, in accordance with the approved specifications.
It also included the necessity of adhering to prevention and public safety measures during the Eid holiday, and pointed out the necessity of providing manual extinguishers, fire blankets, and first aid boxes inside homes, and ensuring the safety of gas extensions.
The Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority called on families leaving to spend the summer vacation outside the country to ensure the safety of electrical appliances and disconnect unused ones, in addition to tightly closing gas cylinders and keeping them away from sources of direct sunlight and placing them in a place outside the kitchen.
The authority urged the public to cooperate with civil defense teams by immediately reporting any emergency on the number (999), and called on drivers to make way for rescue, firefighting and ambulance vehicles and vehicles, and not to gather at accident sites.
