A minor, 17 years old and, therefore, without a driving license, died in the early hours of this Wednesday after suffering a traffic accident in the Palencia municipality of Villarramiel. The young man, a native of Palencia, was the only occupant of the car that, around six in the morning, left the road at kilometer 31 of the provincial road P-953 at the height of Villarramiel (800 inhabitants), according to data of the General Directorate of Traffic and the Emergency Service of Castilla y León 112.
The Government Delegation has reported that the vehicle left the road on the left side and, after continuing in a straight line through a roundabout, ended up colliding directly with a retaining wall. The 112 operations room gave notice of the incident to the Civil Traffic Guard, to the firefighters of the Palencia Provincial Council, and to Emergencies Sanitarias- Sacyl, which sent a basic life support ambulance, the medical team from the Villarramiel health center and a mobile ICU, according to the EFE agency. This last appeal was annulled when Sacyl staff confirmed that the injured person, a minor who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, had died.
This section of the road is located near an overpass on the N-610 national road, about 40 kilometers from the city of Palencia. The place of the accident is a point with dense fog usual at that early hour of the morning in winter times.
