Over the past few months, the debut of the DDR5 RAM in the computer market, mainly – except in more unique than rare cases – fixed, at least speaking of the consumer side. This is a new generation technology for the moment present in a very small part of the devices all over the world, but over the next few years, as happened between the transitions of the previous RAM technologies, it will certainly have a way of become the new standard. For now, we’ve mostly seen devices being made for the future, but now that the first motherboards that can support them have hit the market, more and more companies have attempted to launch their own RAM. This also applies to Kingstonwhich with its series Fury has decided to test himself with the Kingston Fury Beast DDR5devices that we have had the opportunity to test with hand thanks to the motherboard Asus ROG Maximus Z690 Heroand which we want to tell you about in this review.
Unprecedented results
Let’s start this review of the Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 specifying that the devices, as is basically normal for RAM, despite being somewhat fresh from launch on the market, may already be able to satisfy the different needs of users. We have in fact had the opportunity to test a kit size of 32 GB in totalwith configuration 2 × 16 and 5200MHz frequencybut you can find al following link even more options, in case you are interested in greater (or lesser) capacity, or at a different frequency. We also specify that in order to include the new gems in your computers you will need to have a motherboard that is compatible with the DDR5 standardwhich is almost impossible in case you have not purchased one really recently, without going into details – given our excellent experience – we can recommend the Asus ROG Maximus Z690 Hero on which we put our hand, you can find it herealthough there are already further choices to draw from.
Moving on to talk about the product in this review dedicated to Kingston Fury Beast DDR5, we specify that on the field of design, there have not been who knows how many improvements. The two benches were presented in the classic plastic packaging useful to protect the connections, with a heatsink without who knows what aesthetic look, indeed rather elegant and inconspicuouswhich however holds boasts right in the middle of the brand Fury that characterizes it. For sure, the company could opt for an RGB cooler in the future, but for the moment those who want to get their hands on the devices must be content with this configuration.
New generation, not for everyone
As far as performance is concerned, for the moment we are faced with a generational leap that for some may not be so marked. It is good to clarify immediately that, as mentioned, the devices will certainly present themselves as the new standard, and considering that the Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 also support a multitude of technologies, includingXMP from Intela great many users will find themselves hearing the exact differences to their models DDR4or even DDR3where obviously there is a real abyss in terms of potential.
However, it must be specified that, although certainly contextualized if we consider the debut of a new generation, and the desire for many to want to keep up with the times, DDR5 devices will still have room for improvement in the future, reaching as we know also 8000MHz. Consequently, articles of this type – which are now the best the market has to present – they may not be essential for many usersdespite, as just mentioned, able to completely change the experience of use of many owners of DDR4 and DDR3, especially for those dealing with low-end models.
