Hamdok’s office said on his official Facebook page: “Social media platforms and some media stations are circulating news that Abdullah Hamdok, the Prime Minister, has been placed under house arrest for the second time, and we deny this news.”
“We confirm that he enjoys full freedom of movement, meeting and communication,” the office added.
This comes at a time when the Transitional Sovereignty Council in Sudan is holding an emergency meeting to discuss developments, after reports that Hamdok insisted on resigning.
The meeting is trying to study proposals in order to present Hamdok to discourage him from resigning, to prevent the deterioration of the situation in the country, which has been witnessing a political crisis since last October.
