RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) – The director of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) Sandoval Feitosa was appointed to head the autarchy, after the end of the term of the current director-general, André Pepitone, the minister of Minas and Enegia, Bento Albuquerque.
Pepitone’s term ends in August of next year.
“The MME has appointed Dr. Sandoval to replace Director-General André Pepitone,” said Bento in a virtual press conference to the association of foreign correspondents.
The executive who leaves office is already in his second term and could not be reappointed to the general directorate of Aneel.
Sandoval’s name would have already been forwarded to the Civil House and, to assume the position in 2022, he would have to be judged in Congress.
