Ex-mund deputy Ilya Yashin was transferred from a punishment cell to a cell-type room
Former Moscow municipal deputy Ilya Yashin (recognized by the Russian Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent)serving his sentence in Smolensk penal colony No. 3, was released from the punishment cell (punishment cell).
The convict was transferred to a cell-type room (PKT). In the Telegram channel, the politician explains that the PKT is “the same punishment cell, only on a permanent basis.” Yashin also added that he and his lawyers were preparing for such a development of events.
Yashin ended up in a punishment cell for violating the regime
Yashin’s transfer to a punishment cell for 15 days became known on May 22. Then Yashin stated that he was punished on a formal basis – for leaving his sleeping place in the barracks allegedly three minutes after the command to “rise.” Yashin believes that the colony administration decided to disrupt his three-day visit with his parents, which was supposed to begin on May 27.

Yashin was found to have an interest in extremism
On March 4, it was reported that Yashin was placed on special registration. The colony’s leadership considered the ex-Mundapist a prisoner “prone to studying and spreading extremism.” The politician himself stated that this status is related to the “political nature” of his criminal article.

A criminal case against Yashin was initiated in July 2022. The deputy was accused of spreading false information about the Russian Armed Forces. According to the investigation, he posted a video on YouTube that contained false information about the alleged commission of Russian military crimes against civilians in the Ukrainian city of Bucha.
In December 2022, the Meshchansky Court of Moscow sentenced the politician to eight and a half years in prison, and also banned him from administering websites on the Internet for four years after serving his sentence. Yashin did not admit his guilt.
