The Pacific Fleet began large-scale exercises involving 40 ships
As part of the exercise, which will take place from June 18 to 28, the Pacific Fleet began deploying its forces with the participation of about 40 ships. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the fleet.
The exercises are conducted in the Pacific Ocean, Sea of Japan and Sea of Okhotsk under the general leadership of the Commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral Viktor Liina. They involve about 40 ships, boats and support vessels, about 20 naval aircraft and helicopters.
On June 15, ships of the Pacific Fleet and the Egyptian Navy conducted a joint exercise in the Mediterranean Sea. The Russian defense department called the exercises the next practical step in strengthening naval cooperation between the two countries. It was also specified that the Egyptian side deployed the frigate Al-Qadir.
During the exercises, the formation of a detachment of warships in a designated area and joint tactical maneuvering in various formations were practiced.
