Although there has been no public announcement, the development of Lords of the Fallen 2 is officially underway and based on financial documents published by CI Games it appears to have a more defined exit periodexpected to arrive in 2026 on PC and consoles, with a particular exclusivity agreement which should concern the Windows version.
According to what is reported in the documents in question, CI Games will directly deal with the publishing of Lords of the Fallen 2 on PS5 and Xbox Series it will be available at launch exclusively on the Epic Games Storein that edition.
That there was a sequel to the game in development had been known for some years now, although the title was identified with the code name “Project 3”, but at this point the release seems to be part of the company’s upcoming publishing plans.
More ambitious than before
This would place the new souls-like style action RPG for 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, at least as far as current programs are concerned.
The exclusivity on PC distribution entrusted to Epic Games seems to be for “the entire life cycle of the product”, so it seems it is not really destined to arrive on Steam not even at a later time, waiting for any clarifications.
The agreement, however, is still under negotiation and it is possible that it will be modified, also because it would be a rather rare condition. We therefore await any clarifications which should arrive shortly.
The game is expected to “capitalize on the notoriety and success achieved by Lords of the Fallen”, reads the description, and is “built on more ambitious gameplay featureswhich can appeal to a wider audience”, taking advantage of what the team learned from the work on the previous chapter.
It should also be built entirely on Unreal Engine 5. Meanwhile, the previous Lords of the Fallen released last October and achieved good success at launch.
