British tennis star Andy Murray has raised doubts about his readiness to compete in the Olympic Games for the fifth time in his history, despite his selection of the team that will participate in the Paris Games.
The British news agency “PA Media” reported that Murray, who indicated last February his intention to retire, had been granted a special invitation card from the International Tennis Federation to compete in the singles competitions in the Olympics at the “Roland Garros” stadiums, due to him being a former winner of the “Grand” tournaments. Peace,” and the Olympic gold medal.
The British tennis team announced its roster for the Paris Olympics, and while it can currently only play in the singles competition, the two-time Olympic champion has been nominated to play in the doubles competition, along with his colleague Dan Evans.
Murray said in statements while he was at the Queens Tennis Club: “I am not 100% sure I am ready.”
He added: “It depends somewhat on the physical condition I will be in, and how things will go in the coming weeks. Yes, my plan is to play, but it is not easy.”
Murray said: “In the next 10 days, I will reveal my position on doubles competitions, and what will happen after that. I hope I will have the opportunity to play with Evans.”
He added: “We play doubles here in France. I don’t know if we will play other tournaments after that. It has not been confirmed yet.”
