Joy is a human right, argued Dr. Erkki Salonen at the Sata-Häme soi party. “Dance is no longer defined as a circular movement with the devil as its center.”
There was plenty of joy at the 3rd event of tanhu, accordion playing and folk music in Ikaalis. The day was too crowded with callers and callers. But the crowd had a good time on the lawn. Ikaalinen’s beauty also lives up to its praise.
The general representative of the Finnish Cultural Association, Mr. Dr. Erkki Salonen, is happy that nowadays the natural joy of life is understood as a human right. “You have to get used to singing, dancing and playing music from an early age. Developing creativity increases individuality.”

“Now you’re going too far,” was the answer when HS investigated the ownership relationships
Finland each land area has been measured, mapped, surveyed and marked in the land register. Information about land ownership is public.
But for an ordinary citizen, finding out ownership is almost impossible, as it requires a lot of time, accurate basic information and knowledge of the agencies. 25 journalists collected information for HS.
Information about land ownership has been obtained from the leading officials of the cities. All were asked for the same exact information, but ownership of land proved to be a matter that officials balked at.
Information showing the relationship between ownership groups was easily obtained from most cities, but the question of the largest private landowners blocked the mouths of officials. “Now you are going too far,” said one town.
The Pielisväylä connects to the Saimaa route
From Pielice Canalization of Pielisjoki, which flows into Pyhäselkä, for water transport was started a hundred years ago.
The last construction phase, which is now coming to an end, was made to make swimming easier, but at the same time Pielisväylä was created — a waterway from Joensuu to, for example, Kol, Lieksa and Nurmes.
Pielisväylä is now included in the list of water hiking routes in Saimaa for the first summer. In the coming weeks, Pielisväylä’s landing and overnight places will be marked in the same way as in the entire lake area.
Pielinen Koli with its dangerous scenery is a new water area for boaters with its own special features, says tourism agent Pentti Haapala.
The most special attractions of the canal include the old shipping channels, some of which are planned to be preserved as museum channels.

Petteri Jokinen tacticized the victory
Kristiinakaupunki (HS)
Over one hundred children took part in the Finnish championships on optimistic dinghies over the weekend in Kristiinakaupunki, which is considered one of the most ideal sailing locations in Finland.
On Sunday, the fifth, or decisive, start was on the program, where only Matts Ehrnroot from Espoo could take it easy. He had already emerged as the clear winner of the 13-16-year-old series.
The younger ones, i.e. 8-12 year olds, fought to the last gasp for first place.
Petteri Jokinen from Helsinki outsmarted his opponents in the heat and quiet wind and took the overall victory.
The victory of the youth category coming to Helsinki was unique, because none of the experts who gathered at the competition venue remembered that this had happened before.
The organizers of the competitions recognized the skill and good behavior of the little sailors.
