On social media, the former president celebrated results from Banco Central de Campos Neto with music by the drag queen
The former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) used the song “KO”, by artist and drag queen Pabllo Vittar, to celebrate the increase in net profit of banks in Brazil in 2023.
In a post on Instagram stories on Saturday (June 15, 2024), the former head of the Executive mentions Publication from the portal g1with the title “Bank profits break record and total R$144 billion in 2023, says Central Bank”.
The singer’s song, “KO”, is an abbreviation of the word “knockout” or “nocaute”, in Portuguese. It is used in fighting to say that an opponent has been defeated.
The publication shared by Bolsonaro says that, in 2023, banks reached a new record in net profit, with a level of R$144.2 billion. In the previous year, it was R$139 billion. The text recalls that the result was achieved during the management of Roberto Campos Neto at the head of central bankafter being nominated by the former president.
The song used by the former leader belongs to the 2017 album Vai Passar Mal, which marked Pabllo Vittar’s debut in the music industry. The singer is known for her political position on the left, which gave her participation in the Festival of the Future at the president’s inauguration Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in 2023.
In a new publication this Sunday (June 16), Bolsonaro mocked the participation of former PT (Workers’ Party) treasurer João Vaccari Neto at Petrobras, to the sound of “Ai ai mega Príncipe”, a song released by the drag queen this year.
