Bolsonaro’s son mocks the president’s meeting with the Italian prime minister at a G7 meeting
The federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) said this Saturday (June 15, 2024), in a tone of irony, that the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, “knows how to defend himself from pickpockets”. The statement was in reference to the president’s meeting Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) with the right-wing prime minister and host of the G7 Summit – group of the most industrialized countries in the world.
Eduardo Bolsonaro made the statement on his official profile on Instagram. The congressman published a video in which Lula appears to be trying to greet Meloni with a hug. The prime minister, in turn, moves the president away and limits the gesture to a handshake.
In the caption, Bolsonaro’s son wrote that the Italian prime minister showed that “he is a fan of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and already knows how to defend himself from pickpockets”.
At the meeting, held at Hotel Borgo Egnaziain Puglia, the head of the Executive praised Meloni for the organization, thanked her for the solidarity she showed in the face of the consequences of the floods in Rio Grande do Sul and talked about the prospect of the trip that the Italian president, Sergio Mattarela, will make to Brazil in July this year.
