Foreign policy director of the institute (Upi). Mika Aaltola has resigned from his position as director of Upi, in the bulletin let’s tell.
Aaltola was elected to the European Parliament on June 9.
According to the release, Upi’s deputy director Mikael Mattlin serves as deputy director until July 15, 2024. Upi’s board has decided that deputy director Mattlin will continue as acting director until a new director is elected.
Upi’s chairman of the board Klaus Korhonen thanks Aaltola on behalf of the board in the press release.
“During Mika’s tenure, Upi has become an even more visible European research institute and think tank, which also has an important role in the domestic debate on international issues,” says Korhonen.
Aaltola served as Upi’s director for four and a half years.
