An all red Sunday
Francesco Bagnaia in MotoGP e Charles Leclerc in F1: in the space of a few hours last Sunday, Italy celebrated the success of two of its greatest talents, Ducati and Ferrari, scoring in Barcelona with Pecco and in Monaco with Leclerc. Bagnaia has already won two world titles and is chasing Jorge Martin to defend the throne, while Leclerc has yet to fulfill his world dream and is 31 points behind Max Verstappen.
On the move from Barcelona to Mugello Bagnaia stopped in Maranello to see the new 12Cilindri up close: “I came to take a look at Ferrari’s latest model, the 12Cilindri. Maybe one day I’ll give it to myself, but right now I’m focused on the championship. On Sunday I wasn’t scared when Martin and Acosta overtook me, I understood that they were pushing too hard. Mugello? I think about what Monaco represented for Charles, I hope it will be the same for me in a few days. I’m happy for Charles, I felt his emotion from afar, it’s not true that all victories are the same”the words of Bagnaia reported in today’s edition of Il Resto del Carlino.
Bagnaia made amends in Barcelona by winning his fall on the last lap in the Sprint on Sunday, a mistake that did not go down well with the two-time world champion as demonstrated by the reaction on Sunday’s lap of honor at the point where he had fallen just over 24 hours earlier . A year ago at Mugello he won both races and will try to do the same this weekend to put Martin in his sights.
