Russian Foreign Ministry: The West is building up offensive capabilities for cyber operations
Western countries, led by the United States, are building up offensive capabilities in the field of information technology in order to conduct cyber operations against Russia, China and other independent states, he said in an interview RIA News Director of the Department of International Information Security of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Artur Lyukmanov.
He emphasized that such plans are mentioned in the Pentagon’s cybersecurity strategy and other American doctrinal documents. In addition, Lyukmanov noted that White House representatives regularly announce their intention to fight undemocratic regimes using digital means.
Previously, the Foreign Ministry called dialogue with the United States on cybersecurity impossible in the current realities, because Washington wants to inflict a strategic defeat on Moscow using non-kinetic means of information technology.
