According to Chandon, one of the pillars of the production of Chandon Blanc de Noir sparkling wine is 100% sustainable production certified by Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Company). Of the winery’s 250 hectares, 130 hectares are used for grape production and the remaining 120 hectares preserve the native forest.
The company also allocates part of its property to planting butiá, a species threatened with extinction. The dried leaves of the trees are transformed into handicrafts as part of a Chandon project with the local Rio Grande do Sul community, in partnership with Embrapa.
Rio Grande do Sul
According to Casa Chandon Brasília, 100% of the proceeds from the event, including tickets, sales at the pop-up store and bars, will be donated to partner entities that support flood victims in Rio Grande do Sul. The space also is receiving non-perishable food that will be destined for flood victims.
The Chandon winery is located in Garibaldi (RS). According to the company, the grape harvest was not affected by the heavy rains that hit the State. The harvest was completed in the 1st quarter of 2024. Despite this, Chandon was indirectly affected by climate events.
The company works in collaboration with 80 local producing families. Chandon has been producing sparkling wines in Brazil since 1973.
