Dying Light has made a comeback on Steam in the last few hours, where the number of contemporary players has grown enormously thanks to aoffer incredible that it allowed you to buy it for just one dollar in the USA, and for just €3 here. There is talk of a growth in players of 330% compared to the pre-discount average, due to an influx of tens of thousands of new players, who took advantage of the opportunity.
The game is still on offer at the indicated price (it will be until May 19th) for the so-called Zombie Awareness Month, so if you are interested you can purchase it for a cappuccino with croissant even at this time.
Sudden growth
Dying Light was published way back in 2015, finding strong response from the public, who followed it incessantly over the years. Many interpreted it as the spiritual sequel to Dead Island, considering that the two games shared the same development studio and some basic ideas and also considering the delay in the release of Dead Island 2, which arrived on the market very recently. In general we are talking about a first-person action game with role-playing elements and a particular focus on parkour, which makes moving around the maps a lot of fun.
Note that the high sales correspond to a beloved game, with 95% of the more than 300,000 user reviews received on Steam that are positive, for an overall average of “Extremely Positive”. This is a decidedly better result than that of the sequel, Dying Light 2 Stay Human, which has “only” 79% of positive reviews, for a very positive average.
Speaking of cold numbers, SteamDB tells us that Dying Light has reached a peak of 40,279 concurrent players in the last 24 hours, very close to the maximum peak reached nine years ago, which was 45,876 concurrent players. As you can see from the graph published on these pages, the growth is clear and evident even to the naked eye.
