Renner’s CEO, Fabio Faccio, stated that the company currently has 370 employees affected by the floods in the State of Rio Grande do Sul and 20 stores closed, 10 of which are Renner brands. The company also owns the Camicado, YouCom and Ashua brands.
“We, at Renner, are a company from Rio Grande do Sul, headquartered here. We always act in impact situations and this time is no different, especially because it is our home”, Faccio told Broadcast (Grupo Estado’s real-time news system).
He states that the impact of store closures on the company’s future results is not yet possible to measure. They represent 3% of the company’s sales. The situation has already improved, with establishments having already reopened. On Monday, closed stores represented 4% of the company’s revenue
“The moment is sad and challenging for all the people of Rio Grande do Sul. The tragedy in RS is serious and affects essential rights”, said Faccio. For him, neither public authorities nor civil society can face the disaster alone.
Faccio explains that the company has helped on different fronts. For affected employees, the company has already made available thirteenth and vacation payments, as well as the possibility of receiving a financial “emergency aid” donation.
In addition, the company rented boats to rescue affected people. In total, there have been 800 rescues so far, many of them to save the employees themselves.
In addition to financial donations, the company has already delivered 80,000 pieces of clothing to civil defense and has another 300,000 ready for donation, awaiting guidance from the bodies that coordinate aid to victims.
