Moscow has become the leader in the number of electric cars in Russia
Moscow turned out to be the leader in the number of electric cars – 8,594 electric vehicles were counted in the capital, reports RBC.
In second place is the Moscow region, where more than 3 thousand electric vehicles were found. The Krasnodar Territory was in third place (2,776 units). At the same time, the Irkutsk region showed leadership in the share of electric cars from the total number of vehicles – 2.8 electric cars per thousand vehicles. The top three for this indicator are the Sakhalin Region (1.86) and the Primorsky Territory (1.8).
Previously, analysts at Strategy Partners suggested that demand for electric vehicles in Russia will grow by an average of 38 percent annually over the next ten years. It is expected that by 2033 the figure will reach 340 thousand cars per year. The growth in demand will affect electric passenger cars, light-duty electric trucks and plug-in hybrids.
