Green directive, the Democratic Party rejoices, but for Italians there will be nothing to celebrate
Carlo Calenda gets the point right this time and responds in kind to Chiara Braga, group leader of the Democratic Party in the Chamber: “No, look Chiara. We also voted against it. It's the wrong directive.” This is how Carlo Calenda responds on social media to Chiara Braga, leader of the Pd group in the Chamber, on the EU directive on green homes.
And then again: “And unless don't explain where we find the 600 billion to implement it it's also a joke. Be careful, we have healthcare, education and salaries in pieces, starting to play with other super bonuses risks leading the Italian left to definitively lose the representation of those who can't make it. The green transition is a serious and complex thing that cannot be done with slogans and ideological measures.”
The green passionate woman of the Democratic Party had yesterday in turn posted joyfully, thinking of finding consensus: “The right in Europe votes against the green homes directive which serves to fight the climate crisis and develop a quality construction chain. From Meloni & co. only one certainty now: always arm in arm with Orban's Hungary and always against Italy's interests”.
But not only. Exactly one month ago he commented on the deadly European measure: “This time too on the wrong side. Today the right-wing parties in the European Parliament voted against the green homes directive. Which is not an environmentalist rant, but the only answer to seriously contribute to the reduction of polluting emissions, guarantee energy savings and significantly reduce expenses for families. And the short-sightedness of certain forces does not allow them to see the efforts made to reach a final agreement in which many of the constraints of the initial proposal have been revised and softened. Choosing to ignore the climate crisis or even slow down the measures that allow us to deal with it is an indication of lack of foresight and reckless selfishness towards future generations but also towards the most fragile of our time who will increasingly struggle to face the emergencies triggered by the climate. The superficial Europeanism and in favor of cameras certainly does not help to save the earth, nor citizens and businesses to have more resources and tools to protect themselves from the climate crisis”.
And in fact the comments were all hostile to Braga. We report just a few indicative ones: FT: “These are the initiatives that make people want to vote for the right” GB: “Where do we find the 600 billion? It seems short-sighted to me.” AC: “The European continent is the continent that pollutes the least but it is the one that has implemented the most corrective actions for climate change. This is enough for you to understand that thinking about going green when you have MANY major problems to solve is a responsible choice. The left continues to look at the finger and never at the moon in things and in fact it will not govern for the next twenty years.” LM: “You're on the wrong side. Who pays?”. And in fact people are worried, even terrified about the cost estimates.
The president of Aspesi (national association of real estate promotion and development companies), Federico Filippo Oriana, estimates a devaluation of houses of 30-40% with an outlay in Italy of 20,000 to 55,000 euros per house.
The goal, as mentioned, is to achieve zero emissions by 2050 (pure madness) but already from 2030 all new buildings will have to be zero-emission, a rule that applies to 2028 with public buildings and this will mean, in this case too, new costs that only the EU in the world, unilaterally, will is taking on while Climate Change is a global problem but the big polluters – the USA, China, India and Russia – are careful not to take measures of this type. This is a Tafazzian way of beating the family jewels.
Who pays the bill? Do you really think that people are willing to pay these amounts (if they ever had this money available in times of crisis like the current ones)? Yet the leader of the Pd Braga group goes green with the… bottoms of others. Radical-chic attitudes of rich people who do not have to deal with market spending on a daily basis, showered as they are with very lavish parliamentary salaries. The ZTL syndrome rages and doubles, or rather triples.
Salvini and the centre-right have defined the EU directive as “pure madness” but there is someone who toasts the Nazarene on the shoulders of the people. Meanwhile, what do they care? They are in the attics of the historic centers having caviar and salmon parties.
