The filmmakers, actresses and actors asked that the authorities reduce their mandates and that citizens mobilize. From the collective ‘In Defense of Cinema Peruano’, which they created to demonstrate against the Tudela bill, spoke out for the first time, together, on the political crisis. “We are aware that the corrupt Congress, Patricia Benavides and the system that keeps Dina Boluarte in power are the different heads of the same structure. (We are) against the pardon and illegal release of Alberto Fujimoriconvicted of crimes against humanity in Peru.
Likewise, we repudiate the acts of the Nation’s Attorney, Patricia Benavides. We also reject the Dina Boluarte regime and Alberto Otarolawho today represent the opacity of the Peruvian State and are the main political perpetrators of the murders of fifty people,” reads the statement approved by the group organized by directors such as Rossana Díaz Costa (Un mundo para Julius) and Judith Velez. (To see again).
Lucho Cáceres, member of the group, stressed that a statement beyond the PL was necessary Tudela. “This bill cannot be seen as something isolated from what is happening in the country. It is pertinent to be in the streets.” He also points out that there is “an institutional takeover” that seeks to extend to television and cinema. “We are left with films and theater as bastions for criticism and denunciation.” In that sense, he questioned a group. “Don’t you raise your voice for the more than 60 dead and sing ‘True Peruvians’? It makes me sad because there are people I love, but it was a joke. They are so uninformed, jumping on shows and making stories that don’t make any sense. “That takes you away from the real world.”
For his part, actor Alberick García added: “The pardon for the dictator Fujimori is also a smokescreen. This is clear, the mafias invest money to put people in Congress. In our case, the Tudela law is the tip of the iceberg, what interests them is to parcel out, commercialize, reduce the State and everything is about buying and selling. It is not about the left and the right, but about living in a healthy and fair environment.”

“(About Adriana Tudela) They are not capable of maintaining their lie. They were always satellites of Fujimorism, always.”

“(In response to Magaly Medina) More political operator today than in the 90s.”

“Jaime Villanueva acknowledges the authorship of the chats that incriminate him and the head of the criminal organization, (a) prosecutor of the Nation. To cover it up, they release Fujimori. “More predictable than a gringo movie!”
