Dragon Ball is a multimedia phenomenon with global reach. From a simple manga it has over time been transformed into a TV series, cinematographic films, toys and video games of all kinds. Given the nature of the story, there are few things that go better with Goku’s epic than a good fighting game, a game in which the Saiyans beat each other with blows of energy waves and increasingly picturesque transformations. And among the fighting games dedicated to Dragon Ball, there are few that can rival Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi in fame. For this reason there are a lot of expectations around Dragon Ball: Sparkling! Zerothe new chapter of the series coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
After the trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero shown last night during The Game Awards today Bandai Namco has released a series of images thanks to which you can better enjoy the work done by Spike Chunsoft with Unreal Engine 5.
The original name
Although the series is known in the West as Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi, in reality the original name of Spike Chunsoft’s arena fighting games is Dragon Ball: Sparking! For this reason, for this new chapter, the publisher Bandai Namco has decided to standardize the series throughout the world, recovering the original name and adding the suffix Zero, in order to underline the restart.
They are, in fact, over 15 years since a new chapter has been developed, but we’re willing to bet that, given the success of every fighting game with “Dragon Ball” in the title, it won’t be the last to see the light. But it’s still early to think about the future, given that Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero doesn’t have an official release date yet.
