The National Alliance for Civil Development Action in Egypt announced the organization of a humanitarian aid convoy to the Gaza Strip based on directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry also announced the allocation of Al-Arish Airport in North Sinai to receive international relief materials allocated to the Gaza Strip.
A member of the National Alliance for Civil Development Action in Egypt, Mustafa Zamzam, told Sky News Arabia that the convoy arrived in northern Sinai several hours ago and is waiting for the green light from the Egyptian authorities to cross into the Gaza Strip.
The convoy includes 120 large trucks carrying about a thousand tons of canned and dry food and water bottles.
The convoy also contains 300,000 packages of medicine and medical supplies, 50,000 blankets, 80 relief tents, and 250,000 pieces of winter clothing.
The Egyptian Food Bank is participating with 41 trucks, and the food that the bank chose to send includes items that are edible without cooking (a large amount of mineral water – milk – honey – dates – white cheese – canned beans – canned meat).
