The regional government highlights the lowest unemployment since 2008
The PP spokesperson for the Region, Miriam Guardiola, declared yesterday that, in this legislature, “thanks to the López Miras government, more than 35,000 jobs have been created, of which 22,000 are occupied by women.” In this way, Guardiola valued the employment data for last month positively, since “the Region of Murcia is the third community where employment has grown the most this month, in addition to the fact that the lowest number of unemployed has been registered since 2008 in the month of March,” according to popular sources in a statement.
Croem calls for measures to relaunch the economy
The Regional Confederation of Business Organizations of Murcia (Croem) considered “favorable” for the labor market in the Region the balance that shows the unemployment data in March, marked by the seasonality associated with the imminence of Easter and the Spring Festival in the capital, reports Europa Press. However, the employers highlighted that, in annual terms, the figures for employment and affiliation to Social Security “remain at favorable, but moderate values”, for which reason they believe that “additional shock measures must be taken to relaunch the activity ».
CC OO regrets that it falls with less intensity than the average
Comisiones Obreras lamented that unemployment falls in the Region “with less intensity than the national average.” In the opinion of CC OO, the regional labor market “is highly conditioned by domestic demand, which in turn is conditioned by high inflation, market uncertainty, the price of energy or the exaggerated rise in interest rates for the mortgages”. For the union, the labor market is consolidated in the Region. “Thanks to the labor reform, permanent contracts remain at historic levels despite the increase in temporary contracts,” he argues.
UGT assesses the effect of the reform on the fall in temporary employment
UGT Region of Murcia valued the “influence” of the labor reform in the decrease in temporary employment and called for “more and better care and protection” for the “high” number of people who are unemployed. The union organization stressed that the preparation for Easter had an effect on the drop in unemployment “much less intense” in the Region than in the country as a whole, according to Europa Press. For UGT, the figures for affiliation to Social Security and the drop in unemployment show that the labor reform “has not been an obstacle” to job creation, “quite the opposite.”
The Chamber of Commerce provides good holidays for tourism
The Chamber of Commerce celebrated that the good prospects for Easter encourage the labor market. March “has meant a new advance for the labor market due to the hiring for the service sector in the face of Easter, auguring a good behavior of the tourism sector that in the Region has a high weighting in terms of labor,” they declared from the organization to Europa Press. This situation occurs, “despite the maintenance of risks due to high levels of inflation, geopolitical instability and the increase in interest rates.”
