The Brackley team confirms dark suits for Hamilton and Russell, but this doesn’t necessarily represent a clue to the livery of the W14

While Alfa Romeo And Red Bull tasted the track for the first time in 2023, putting their respective single-seaters on the asphalt for a day of filming – the Hinwil team filmed in Barcelona, while the Milton Keynes team worked on their home track in Hinwil – the Mercedes used its social channels to reveal a further ‘aesthetic’ detail referring to the new season which is now starting. To see the shapes of the new W14, as is known, it will be necessary to wait until February 15th. In Brackley, however, they decided to unveil the new overallswhich actually remain almost unchanged compared to those used from 2020 onwards. In fact, the main color remains black, following the stylistic line introduced at the request of Lewis Hamilton at the time of the Black Lives Matter protests. Even last year, when the color of the single-seater had returned to the traditional silver, the overalls had still remained dark. It is therefore impossible to interpret this as an indication of what the chromatic touch of the new car from the Stuttgart company will be. What is certain is that both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell hope that it will be a much more competitive single-seater than the whimsical W13, which was retired a few days ago after being used in the latest tire tests organized by Pirelli.
