Robert Sarver, the owner of the NBA’s Phoenix Suns, was suspended from the club’s activities for a year. According to the investigation, he was guilty of racism and misogyny.
NBA basketball league announced Tuesday that the owner of the Phoenix Suns Robert Sarver has been suspended from the club’s activities for a year. In addition, the league fined Sarver $10 million.
According to the investigation, Sarver was guilty of, among other things, racist language and misogyny towards the club’s employees.
The league said that an independent investigation revealed that Sarver “behaved in a manner that clearly violated the workplace rules of the game under the league’s rules.”
“The conduct included racist language, discrimination against female employees, sexually suggestive language and behavior, and mistreatment of employees, which at times involved bullying,” the league said.
Also Sarver, who owns the Phoenix Mercury of the women’s WNBA league, was investigated when more than 70 Phoenix Suns employees told ESPN they experienced racist language, misogyny and inappropriate behavior.
