Complaints about the poor conditions in which some public schools are found yesterday marked the prelude to what will be today the start of the new school year in the state capital. Parents have been concerned about the possible risks that their children will face on campus. Those from the 5 de Febrero primary school, located on Avenida Internacional, s/n, Colonia Ampliación Buenos Aires, denounced that for two years that school has been without electricity. Therefore, they demand immediate attention from the state government and the Ministry of Public Education. For her part, Patricia Cobain, director of the Paliza school, located in the center of the city, announced that the return to classes at that campus was suspended because the roof of the building collapsed.
The Ministry of Public Education and Culture, where Graciela Domínguez Nava rules, promised that the return to classes would take place today under a narrow preventive operation to keep the chains of contagion by covid-19 and monkeypox cut. Both diseases constitute a serious risk for schoolchildren, for whom it is difficult to keep their distance in daily life. However, this remains to be seen. And it is that the State Government has already shown that the implementation of inspection and epidemiological surveillance devices is not exactly its thing. We only have to remember the governor’s statement in the sense that the sanitary filters generate panic among the citizens. This when monkeypox was barely advancing through the country.
The rains have taken and a fee to the Culiacán service infrastructure. Due to the lack of an efficient pluvial system, the currents enter through the drainage pipes and collapse in some points due to the strong pressure. The foregoing is generating the appearance of sinkholes at different points in the state capital. The first was the one located on José Limón Boulevard, whose repair caused traffic chaos in the area for almost three days. Then another one, almost a meter in diameter, appeared on Federalismo Avenue. The situation is not a minor problem, as it represents a serious risk to the safety of drivers and passers-by. The manager of the Potable Water Board of Culiacán, Jesús Higuera Laura, would do well to carry out an evaluation to detect the formation of more caverns due to the collapse of the pipes, because with this a true tragedy can be avoided.
In response to criticsYesterday the President of the Republic was in Sinaloa again. During a meeting with the CFE workers, he presented the Internet for All service project, with which he intends to provoke a new social revolution, like the one that was made when deploying the electricity service in the country. AMLO had been criticized for visiting Sinaloa only to inspect works, without bringing new projects for the entity.
