Those under 35 years of age are eligible for a subsidy of 250 euros per month for a maximum period of two years from January 1
A total of 1,300 Murcians under the age of 35 have applied for the Youth Rental Voucher since its launch, approximately a month ago. They opt for a subsidy of 250 euros per month per young person who lives in a rented house or room and which constitutes their habitual residence. The period for granting the aid will be counted from January 1 of this year and will be granted for a maximum period of 24 months. The deadline for submitting applications ends on May 30, 2023.
The General Director of Housing, José Francisco Lajara, recalled that the total budget for the aid is 17.6 million euros «of which from the Autonomous Community we advance the first 8.8 to make this subsidy available to young people as soon as possible”.
The beneficiaries of the Rental Voucher are those young people between the ages of 18 and 35 who are holders or who are in a position to sign a rental contract or transfer of use of the dwelling or room that is the object of the requested aid, and whose maximum income is of 24,318 euros, equivalent to three times the Multiple Effect Public Income Indicator (Iprem).
The maximum rental income for the home will be 600 euros per month and, in the case of the room, it must be equal to or less than 300 euros per month.
For Lajara, “the aid is intended to guarantee access to a home for one of the sectors of the population most affected by the current economic crisis through the payment of the rental income of their home. Murcia has been a pioneer in the line of guarantees for young people who wish to acquire a home and do not have sufficient resources to pay the down payment on the mortgage », she pointed out.
