Leopard in Khosrov forest in Armenia

Even if one thinks more of a German tank at the moment, a living big cat could make a contribution to peace. An encounter in the Caucasus.
IIn the darkness of my head a leopard stalks in the “soft walk of supple strong steps”. On velvet paws he stalks through rugged gorges and untouched forests. Lonely he roams about and searches, restlessly. After a loot? After a female? After a sense? Since living in the Caucasus, I can’t get rid of the leopard in my head.
“The leopard is undoubtedly the most perfect of all cats on earth,” Alfred Brehm stated in his animal life. And people who study leopards scientifically in the Caucasus share a mysterious obsession: just by saying the word “leopard” their eyes start to flicker and sparkle excitedly, and you think something of the leopard is planting at that moment Beauty of the beast continues in the sounds of that word, like a reflection of a reflection of a reflection.
