Guatemala.- Carmela Jolomna, A woman accused of killing her husband by beheading him on March 13 in a Guatemalan community was released this Monday after the judge considered the woman acted “legitimate defense”.
According to local media, this Monday the Public ministry reported that the 28-year-old woman was released after the JCriminal Court of First Instance of Cobán, Alta Verapaz After analyzing the case, he favored the woman’s version since it was confirmed that she acted in self-defense.
The woman mentioned that the day the event occurred, her partner named Julio, 35 years old, arrived in an inconvenient state and forced her to have sex with a machete.
It was then that after this, the woman managed to take the machete and that is how the tragedy occurred.
The woman also commented that for a long time she lived being the object of aggression by her partner, because she was already fed up with the mistreatment.
Beer cartons were also found at the crime scene that helped confirm the woman’s version.
As mentioned, this Monday the first statement would be made in the Court of First Instance of the municipality of Cobán where Carmela would be linked to criminal proceedings, but the defense presented evidence that showed that the woman acted in legitimate defense before the constant violation of which he was a victim.
