An Italian Coast Guard spokesman said on Tuesday: Authorities recovered three bodies near the site where a migrant boat sank between Italy and Greece, with reports of more than 60 people missing.
The migrants were on a sailboat about 200 kilometers east of the Italian region of Calabria. 11 survivors and the body of a woman arrived at the beach yesterday, Monday, and relief groups said: 64 people, including 26 children, are still missing.
The Coast Guard said late yesterday evening that it had deployed two patrol boats, a ship and an aircraft to search for the missing people. The Coast Guard did not release further information about the three bodies that were recovered.
