The circle tightens around the Formula 1 of 2023. With the official status of Pierre Gasly in Alpine and Nyck de Vries in AlphaTauri, the vacancies for next season have been halved (from four to two).
To be honest, indeed, the only vacancy would be only the one in Williams, which Nicholas Latifi will leave at the end of the Abu Dhabi race. Different situation in Haas, which in theory would have the pilot – Mick Schumacher – but has yet to confirm it. And, considering the last races of the German driver, this hypothesis becomes less and less probable.
Just TWO SEATS remain on the # F1 2023 grid!

What may save the Kaiser’s son, however, may be the lack of alternatives. Daniel Ricciardo has in fact excluded himself from the market, stating that in 2023 he will remain “on the bench” because he would not have liked the possible destinations, while the hypothesis linked to Nico Hülkenberg is not convincing: the experienced driver, in Haas, is already and it’s Kevin Magnussen. More possibilities for Antonio Giovinazzi, who could pay dearly for the difficult year in Formula E and the lack of adequate mileage with the ground effect cars of 2022.
Even if it is not confirmed by Haas, however, there would be one last bailout anchor for Schumacher. And it would be right there Williams, as team principal Jost Capito has admitted in recent days that Latifi’s replacement would be chosen after the Abu Dhabi race. With the de Vries hypothesis over, a promotion by Logan Sargeant remains standing, which however would be a less strong candidacy than that – for now possible – of Schumacher.
