Sometimes going to the cinema just doesn’t have a happy ending.
Let’s be honest: We’ve all had situations that we just wanted to get out of. Exhausting dinners with the family or extremely unpleasant ones Dates you just want to escape from.
It can be at least as bad if you buy a ticket for a movie and then it’s so crappy that you can’t stand it any longer. In really bad cases, you might even leave the cinema straight away. Redditor Revolutionary_Tap200 has in one AskReddit poll found out which films some people couldn’t watch and why.
Here are some of the answers and the somewhat different reasons for their shortened cinema visits:
1. Fifty Shades of Gray
“Yes, I went in there and yes, I’m ashamed.”

2. The Chronicles of Narnia
“When I was little, I broke a molar in the cinema because I bit unpopped on an unpopped piece of popcorn.”
-u/Professional_Oat705
Okay good. The film can’t do anything about that. Some Unlucky people simply have bad cards in the game of life.
3. A second part by and with Til Schweiger
“’Kokowääh 2′ or ‘Zweiohrchicken’, I don’t even know anymore. A friend of mine dragged me in because she had to see it and then it was so bad that she took me out.”

4. Ice Age 4
“2012, Ice Age 4. But the reason wasn’t the movie, it was that my girlfriend at the time and I were just super horny and in our early 20s. Even before the film started, the fiddling started and we had to leave the hall relatively quickly because we had, of course, completely gotten into the horniness.”

5. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
“It wasn’t mine at all. I thought the whole story was stupid.”
-u/Maleficent_Swan_9817
6. The Life of Brian
“Back then I was very young and pious, and not ready for this kind of humor. It’s now one of my favorite films.”
-u/Math-Omi
7. Finding Nemo
“The big shark was just too much.”
-u/Banone85
8. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
“I’ve never seen such nonsense like this. Flying crystal skull, fucked.”
-u/OriginalUseristaken
9. Aquaman
“As logical as a fish on a bike, with CGI that even a toddler with Blender could have done better… I escaped after exactly 15 minutes – the shortest dive of my life.”
-u/GucciMain77
10. The Golden Compass
“I had stayed all night and had five cups of coffee or something at my grandparents’ house to stay awake. During the film I went out three times to go to the bathroom. That was extremely unpleasant for me and I have never had coffee in front of the cinema since.”
-u/PiscatorBearing
11. Batman vs Superman
“What a horrible trash film. I had to formally apologize to my own retina afterward.”
-u/Nolotov
12. The Boss Baby
“It was so terrible that I had to get out.”
