Yara case, Massimo Bossetti talks about the day of his arrest in a memorial
Exactly 10 years after the arrest of Massimo Bossetti, the carpenter from Mapello tells for the first time in a memorial what he remembers of that day that changed his life. The document, addressed to Marco Oliva, host of the program “Iceberg Lombardia”, will be released during tonight’s episode starting at 8:30 p.m. on Telelombardia. “What remains of that June 16th is the memory of a dramatic, traumatic, unforgettable day. From a life lovingly marked between the four walls of my home and those of construction sites, one day my life suddenly changed forever. An unthinkable thing… I was on a construction site in Seriate building a single-family home, a normal, ordinary working day… . I remember that I stayed there all day when shortly after 5 p.m., an army of 30/40 carabinieri, state police, burst into the construction site… .
From the scaffolding I saw a beast emerge, a carabiniere with a ferocious look who ordered me to stop and throw the trowel to the ground. I asked him what was happening, but he ordered me: “Shut up, lower your gaze, don’t look at me and kneel down.” But how can he shut up and kneel down, I replied, he’s treating me like I’m a drug dealer… . I found myself on the ground kneeling on the scaffolding, surrounded by carabinieri and policemen complete with cameras in their hands. They immediately put handcuffs on me and I was held by the strong grip that their hands had on my neck and shoulders… . I begged to let go, to let go… They just wanted me to keep quiet, without me being able to understand or know what was happening to me in that tragic moment…”.
