Wine|Both domestic and foreign wines in different price categories are coming to the wine shop for sale.
8 percent starting next week, wine can be bought not only in grocery stores, but also in the new wine store of Helsinki’s Muru wine bar. This will be made possible by the law that came into force on Monday alcohol law.
In the case of Muru, it is a combination of a wine store and a bar, where the customer can taste wines at the bar before making a purchase decision.
Crumb managing director Samuil Angelov says that the aim is to bring wines from many different price ranges to the store, without compromising on quality and taste.
“We have German top wines that are made to 7-8 percent. They are highly valued. It’s about bottles worth a few hundred euros,” he tells HS on the phone.
In addition, the sale has so far selected prosecco-style sparkling wine, as well as domestic berry wine, which are more moderately priced. Tasting of potential products is still ongoing.
“This law has only now been released, so we are on the brink of something new. I will choose a few more products this week,” says Angelov.
Wine shop opening has been Angelov’s longtime dream. He plans the selection together with a sommelier colleague Demetrio Lombino with.
“The purpose is to expand the selection when the sell-out alcohol limit changes. Our goal is to offer our customers quality wines at a reasonable markup,” says Angelov in Muru’s press release.
