The municipal services manage the environmental report “in record time” and transfer to Health the plot that will occupy the future health center
The Strategic Environmental Report of the UA23 has already been approved to streamline all procedures for the construction of the San Cristóbal Health Center. It was announced on Friday by the mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, who highlighted his commitment to achieving this necessary infrastructure as soon as possible.
Mateos assures that, “from the Government team we continue to work insistently on achieving this prevailing need and, for this, we have processed in record time the drafting, processing and approval of the necessary Strategic Environmental Report of the Action Unit 23”, after the response of the Ministry of Health, which considers the plot chosen as a space for the construction of the center viable.
“From the Government team we show our commitment to speed up all the procedures so that, as soon as possible, our residents of the San Cristóbal neighborhood can have a health center according to their needs and receive quality primary health care. », insists the mayor.
The plot, Mateos details, will be classified as a local equipment system and the agreement has already been submitted to the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM) for publication. Afterwards, the file will be sent to the Planning and Management Service so that the document amending the urban plan can be drafted, which will have to be approved by the Municipal Plenary. All these procedures are essential so that “the construction works of the future outpatient clinic can begin as quickly as possible”.
Mateos recalls that on November 26, the Segura Hydrographic Confederation authorized the construction of the health center on that plot of land, despite being in a flood zone, on the riverbank, given the impossibility of the City Council obtaining other land. That same day, the Consistory sent the authorization to the Ministry of Health and this responded on January 14 with the acceptance of the site, in the so-called Action Unit 23 (UA23) of the urban plan. On January 28, the Governing Board approved the drafting of the strategic environmental report that has just been completed, Mateos says with satisfaction.
The mayor stresses that “we are facing a historic claim for all of Lorca and, especially, the Barrio de San Cristóbal, which suffers the consequences of a saturated San Diego Health Center and who deserve decent and equal health care.”
