The UAE Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its website that the aid plane also carried medically equipped ambulances.
She explained that the operation of the aid plane comes within a relief air bridge connected since last March, to contribute to meeting the humanitarian needs of Ukrainian refugees and displaced persons.
The Emirati aid plane headed to the Polish capital, Warsaw.
The UAE ambassador to Kyiv, Salem Al Kaabi, said that the UAE supports efforts to reach a political solution to the crisis, and is keen to enhance regional and international security and stability, as well as intensify efforts to support the humanitarian needs of affected civilians in Ukraine.
He added, “During March, the UAE operated an airlift of humanitarian aid carrying tons of basic medical and food items that were delivered to the Ukrainian authorities in Poland to help Ukrainian refugees.”
He continued, “The UAE continues to provide relief support based on the humanitarian approach and solidarity to support international humanitarian relief efforts and help all peoples to overcome their humanitarian crises, and alleviate suffering, especially for women and children.”
