The Geophysical Institute of Ecuador (IG) recorded, around 09:56 on the night of May 20, a first earthquake that took place at 9:43 p.m.
The epicenter of the earthquake was recorded at 2.82 km from the city of pineapplescanton of the Province of El Oro (Ecuador), meaning in the cities of Loja, Azuay, Cañar, Guayas and Los Ríos, according to the National Secretariat for Risk Management.

After a few seconds later, immediately, the IG recorded a new 5.7 earthquake with a depth of 55 km.
The epicenter of the earthquake was 17.41 km from the city of Piñas, (Ecuador), place where the first earthquake occurred. This new movement had a strong intensity, according to several people on social networks.

Likewise, they reported that they felt in the city of Cuenca, Naranjal, Guayaquil, Riobomba, Zaruma, Machala and Loja.
