Pentagon: Russia launched an anti-satellite device into low-Earth orbit

He suggested that the launch took place on May 16. “Russia launched a satellite into low Earth orbit that we assess is likely an anti-space weapon, presumably capable of attacking other satellites in low Earth orbit,” he added.
According to Ryder, there is an “American government satellite” in the same orbit. He promised that the Pentagon would monitor the Russian apparatus.
Earlier, the Pentagon said that the US leadership is in contact with Russia at a high level regarding Washington’s disputed conclusions about its development of new space-based weapons.
