The number of patients suspected of being diagnosed with botulism in Russia has increased to 149 people. Writes about this Telegram-channel “112”.
The most patients with suspected botulism are in Moscow – 121. Another 14 cases were recorded in Nizhny Novgorod and Kazan. For most Russians, the diagnosis is laboratory confirmed.
More than half of those affected by the delivered food are preliminary in serious condition. Several people had to be put on ventilators. All victims ordered salads with tuna and lobio from the delivery service.
After the mass poisoning, investigators opened a criminal case under the article on the provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers.
The poisoning of residents by delivered food became known on June 15. Then Rospotrebnadzor suspended the sale of ready-made salads from two manufacturers. As Anastasia Rakova, deputy mayor of the capital for social development, clarified, of all the victims in Moscow, 55 people are in serious condition, 30 are in intensive care.
Botulism can be fatal if severely intoxicated, as stated earlier in an interview with Lenta.ru by general practitioner, candidate of medical sciences Alexey Khukhrev. According to him, people fell ill with botulism as a result of violations of production technology.
