The tour could not be carried out in 2019 by DANA and had two other editions of absence due to the restrictions of the pandemic
Despite initial fears, time allowed it and Molina dressed up as a huertana on the big day of his festivities with the celebration of the traditional parade of floats in which more than four hundred supporters participated. The tour was the usual one, but it lasted longer because the Federation of Carrocistas Peñas exhibited a header carefully prepared to give more brilliance to one of the events that attracts the most public at the Molinense festivities.
The enthusiasm was noticeable more than ever because, after two years without being able to carry it out due to the pandemic and another one postponed by the 2019 DANA, the supporters of supporters were very keen to celebrate the parade “normally”, according to the organizers.
The header featured Doña Cuaresma, the character chosen by the Águilas Carnival in its latest edition, and the Cartagena Carnival finalists. In addition, Rosana’s troupe of dancers, together with the characters from the Drillo Gang, added an exotic note to the preliminaries of a cavalcade that, moreover, had a marked orchard character. Hundreds of balls donated by the City Council and by the federation flew from the floats, and each of the clubs was in charge of filling the pantry of their trucks with sausages, bread and alcohol, which they shared with the enthusiastic neighbors who claimed their share. In the twenty floats that paraded yesterday, many young people who joined this traditional event for the first time could be seen.

In the morning, the floral offering to the Patron Saint of Molina de Segura, the Virgen de la Consolación, took place in the Church of the Assumption. Previously, from the Plaza de España, the procession departed with representatives of the Municipal Corporation, headed by the mayor of Molina de Segura, Eliseo García Cantó, and citizens of Molina, in addition to the local Municipal Music Band. Once the parade was over, and already inside the religious temple, the mayor presented the Patron Saint with a floral centerpiece and the city’s baton, which was collected by the parish priest of the Church of the Assumption, José León León, and placed on the throne with the image of the Virgen de la Consolación, which will carry it until next Monday, when he returns on a pilgrimage to his orchard hermitage.
